SEO Tree understands business as we have also been business owners (not including SEOTree.ca). Our first business was an online travel agent/tour operator specialising in selling winter vacations to the Whistler area. Starting the business in our mid 20’s and running the business for over 6 years was a huge learning experience. We developed many websites, worked with many other web designers, and programmers and fine tuned our SEO and internet marketing strategies. After bringing the business to a successful point, we sold it in 2008. Throughout the time we had the business many goals were accomplished and many lessons were learnt. Our internet marketing budget was over $100,000 per year. At SEO Tree we will share our experience, knowledge and give you honest advice so your website or online business will be successful. Web design/development and SEO/internet Marketing are intertwined and both need to be right for your website to attract the right clients and achieve the search rankings you require – at an affordable price.

Who Are We?

Marie Therrien grew up in Whitby, England and first came to BC in 2000 to ‘do a ski season in Whistler’ after completing a BSc Food Marketing degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. After deciding that Whistler was going to be a permanent place to stay she helped start up Ski Remote Horizons with Alain. Marie specialised in the sales and customer experience side of the business. After the business sold Marie had the opportunity and time to follow her goal of fine tuning her web design and developer skills. She studied a Diploma in Commercial Web Development at the Institute of Advanced Media in Vancouver. Marie brings her design and programming knowledge to SEO Tree. She is competent in different languages and software including Flash, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Originally from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Alain Therrien first came to BC to study a BA Degree in Tourism Management at Capilano College, North Vancouver. In 2002 he started Ski Remote Horizons an online tour company offering winter vacations for international guests (mainly from the UK). After building a successful business it was time to move on and the business was sold in 2008. Alain brings a wealth of business experience and knowledge to SEO Tree, particularly in the areas of website optimisation (SEO), Search Engine Management (SEM), pay per click campaigns and internet marketing. Alain is a very goal oriented and specialises in Project Management.
